Gov. J.B. Pritzker doesn't anticipate broad energy plan coming together during fall session

While some state lawmakers may be looking for an overhaul of Illinois’ energy policy during the fall veto session, Gov. J.B. Prtizker doesn’t expect a broad plan to fully come together.

Lawmakers are back in Springfield for three days later this month and three days next month.

Pritzker said he wants policies to usher in renewable and green energy, but said it’s unlikely to happen before the end of the year.

Prosecutors turn over 40,000 pages of evidence in Burke corruption case

Lawyers for the longest serving Chicago alderman, who faces corruption charges, are expected to get even more evidence from federal prosecutors despite getting thousands of documents to review Tuesday.

The Chicago Tribune reported Ald. Ed Burke’s attorneys requested an additional three months to review 100 computer disks and 40,000 pages of evidence. Burke faces 14 charges, including bribery and attempted extortion.
