Gov. J.B. Pritzker wants state lawmakers to consolidate nearly 650 local police and firefighter pension funds, but who will lead the charge at the statehouse has yet to surface.
The plan has support from a state firefighters association, but the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police raised concerns.
House Speaker Michael Madigan’s office said the proposal is under review and they’re awaiting members to be briefed.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker backs plan to cap insulin costs
Gov. J.B. Pritzker is putting his support behind legislation in Illinois to cap the price of insulin.
The governor stood with state Sen. Andy Manar Friday morning.
Last month, Manar unveiled a plan to cap out-of-pocket insulin prices at $100 a month for public insurance policies regulated by the state.
Illinois lawmakers expected to take up vape flavor ban later this month
A vape shop manager says he believes the industry is willing to compromise with regulators to avoid banning flavored e-cigarette products.
Upper Limits manager Jon Sharp said they’re willing to talk about stiffer penalties for selling to adults under 21, more labeling requirements and even nicotine limits.
Kathy Drea with the American Lung Association of Illinois dismissed that and pushed for lawmakers to ban flavors.
